The ILO has been increasingly active inpromoting environmental sustainability through the engagement of the actors of the world of work. The concept of “green jobs” signals the particular angle the ILO takes to preserve and restore a sustainable environment and embodies the qualitative notion that green jobs must be decent jobs.
In Egypt, the ILO project Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People (DJEP) financed by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has, since 2011, facilitated access for youth to more than 3,000 employment opportunities, with a particular emphasis on green job creation at both the national and local level in its target governorates.
The efforts by the ILO and others to support job creation for young women and men in Egypt should be scaled up and strengthened in order to address the growing challenge of unemployment and the need to safeguard the natural environment. Bylinking up with other partners across the MENA region, opportunities for mutual learning and synergies can be identified.

في مصر، بدأت المنظمة، منذعام 2011، من خلال مشروع وظائف لائقة لشباب مصر المُمول من الشؤون الدولية – كندا، في تيسير حصول الشباب على ما يزيد عن 3000 فرصة عمل، مع التركيز بشكلٍ خاصٍ على إيجاد وظائف خضراء على المستويين الوطني والمحلي في المحافظات المستهدفة
يجب توسيع نطاق الجهود المبذولة من قبل منظمة العمل الدولية وآخرين لدعم عملية توفير العمل لشباب مصروالعمل على تعزيز تلك الجهود من أجل مواجهة تحدي البطالة المتنامي والحاجة إلى حماية البيئة الطبيعية. ومن خلال التواصل مع شركاء آخرين عبر منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، يمكن تحديد فرص التعلم المتبادل وأوجه التعاون
